harrington grove, nsw
contemporary dwelling house

This residence is located within the highly sought after Michelia Precinct of Harrington Grove, NSW. The project involved designing a highly contemporary residence which would raise the already high level of architecture within the estate.

The original project brief was for a three storey, basement garage design however, upon consultation with estate developers it was established that a three storey design would not be permitted. The resulting design displays an element of a three storey design by adding a garden planter area above the garage. An alucobond cantilevered balcony over the garden area was designed to give the impression that the balcony is floating and also adds to the overall grand appearance of the design, giving a three storey residence presence while still complying with the two storey guideline requirements.

The stone element to the centre of the façade has been designed to be the dominant feature of the dwelling. A  5.4m high fixed window with a deep reveal also adds to the grand appearance and floods light into the entry of the home which boasts a side entry pivot door and steel spine cantilevered staircase with hardwood treads.

Other features include a stepped home theatre to give a cinema feel, feature stone fireplace, butlers pantry with double bowl sink, wall oven and freezer provision, games room and dining with 7.5m long full height fixed window overlooking swimming pool, a cabana and BBQ area adjacent to the pool complete this contemporary masterpiece.
