contemporary dwelling house

This residence boasts uninterrupted views of Georges River, NSW to the rear of the property. The project involved designing a highly contemporary dwelling which took advantage of the views but also had a strong three storey presence from the street.

The feature of the façade is the full height stone blade wall which wraps into the entry to the dwelling. A fully glazed curtain wall system entry door and windows flood light into the entry and throughout the home. A double garage which has been recessed into natural ground provides the three storey element to the dwelling and shares a basement level with a gym and theatre room. Feature alucobond panels wrap around the stone blade wall and add to the contemporary appearance of the dwelling. The use of timber cladding softens the façade and a feature skillion roof with angled steel post support provides balance to an otherwise square appearance. A feature steel spine cantilevered staircase with hardwood treads and a frameless face mounted glass handrail provides access to all three levels of the dwelling. A custom cantilevered concrete dining room table designed in conjunction with a kitchen island bench is the feature of the family room.

Other features include a library, 3 sided fireplace dividing lounge and leisure rooms, bi-fold doors opening onto a huge alfresco with adjoining swimming pool which overlooks Georges River, 4 bedrooms each complete with walk in robe and ensuite, a void adjacent to the upper lounge provides views to the dining room and pool below.
